About AltaSpec 

Hi, I’m Justin Baier, owner of AltaSpec LLC and a certified home and asbestos inspector based in Longmont, Colorado. Before founding AltaSpec, I spent more than a decade in the craft distilling industry, managing distilling systems, facility safety, and equipment maintenance. That hands-on technical background taught me the importance of precision, documentation, and safety compliance — all values I bring to every inspection I perform.

My experience spans beyond the distilling floor.

I’ve also worked in all aspects of construction, giving me firsthand knowledge of how homes are built — and how small details can make a big difference in safety and structure. Whether I’m performing a full home inspection or conducting asbestos sampling, I approach each job with care, accuracy, and clear communication. At AltaSpec, I focus on helping homeowners, buyers, and contractors navigate inspections with confidence and understand every finding before moving forward.

 

 

Rooted in Colorado Homes

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and camping with my family whenever I can. We live in a 1950s home and that experience has made me especially connected to older Colorado homes — understanding their unique charm and the issues that often come with them.
